Email Opening Title Art Director  Full-Time/Part-Time Independent Contractor   Location Groove Jones LLC   Description Groove Jones, a world-renowned and award-winning studio specializing in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Interactive Entertainment technologies, is currently seeking an experienced Art Director who loves both defining and creating 3D concepts, 2D art, UX/UI designs and everything in between to bring to life beautifully crafted VR and AR products. This person understands that both stunning visuals and delightful user experience go hand and hand into creating a comprehensive design plan for a product. If you have the vision and aesthetic for high-quality design and have mastered managing the creative pipeline, this role is for you. The ideal candidate has experience crafting dynamic interactive content from concept to execution. This person should not only enjoy building a cohesive design on each project, but they also love creating art alongside their team - building anything from 3D environment mockups, animated UI, to 2D key art. This person must have expertise in the Adobe Suite as well as 3D design programs of their choice (Blender, Maya, Cinema4D, etc), as they will be getting their hands dirty on every project. The right candidate should enjoy working in a collaborative environment, they should be organized and have an eye for detail. They should be able to communicate feedback and direction clearly to their team. They should also have an insatiable appetite to research, learn and test their knowledge and skills to build things that haven’t been done before! This is a contract position located in Dallas, Texas. Duties and Responsibilities Design and create beautiful 3D mockups, UI/UX wireframes, 2D concept art in order to effectively plan the execution of the final product Serve as design team advocate and supervisor. Foster an innovative, energetic and cohesive work environment Review feedback and provide direction to the design team. Manage creative pipeline and supervise junior designers to ensure all team outputs are of the highest quality Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the client’s brand and projects Inspire, motivate and mentor the design team by example. Use creative expertise and love of storytelling to create incredible user experiences while keeping in mind thestrategic objectives of the project.   Position Requirements Qualifications The ideal candidate would have at least a bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Design, or Related Field, but prior experience may qualify someone. The candidate must have at least 5+ years experience at an Interactive shop, agency or game studio. This individual must be proficient in Adobe Suite (After Effects) and 3D design program (Cinema 4D, Maya or Blender). Motion 2D/3D Graphics animation specialty prefered! The position requires a dynamic person that thrives in a fast-paced environment and is extremely organized. The ideal candidate has game design, web design, or app design experience.
