Position Title: Associate Game Designer

Interested in joining our team? Madrid EA Sports is looking for the next great Associate Technical Designer. You will have a broad knowledge of both design and engineering, fulfilling multiple needs as they arise over the course of development. You will work directly with the technical design team and creative leadership to work on the game's vision while maintaining high technical standards. This is a 6-month temporary position.

Responsibilities:

  • Over the course of development, you will envision, design, prototype, implement, improve, and polish multiple game features in close collaboration with the technical design team.
  • Produce creative ideas that fit within the vision of the game.
  • Use visual scripting to prototype new ideas. Find the fun, fail fast and fail cheap.
  • Work within a versatile team and collaborate well with designers, engineers, and artists.
  • Propose designs, implement, and tune complex data systems inside Frostbite.
  • Propose designs and implement non-interactive sequences using a propriety tool set.
  • Participate in the setup, implementation, and polish phases of narrative cinematic scenes in the game.
  • Tune ingame cameras within Frostbite.
  • Propose designs and implement unique gameplay moments.
  • Author python scripts to automate repetitive tasks within Frostbite.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a design or engineering role.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mix of technical skills and design skills.
  • Experience working with Unity or Unreal. Frostbite experience would be good.
  • Experience with scripting languages. Python experience would be helpful
  • Visual scripting experience.
  • Well versed in modern game design trends. Sports games if possible.
  • Personal side projects.
  • A background in computer science.
