Position Title: Senior Applications Engineer

External Description:

The Information Technology group (EAIT) works as a global team to empower EA’s employees and business operations to be creative, collaborative, and productive. As a digital entertainment company, EA’s enterprise technology needs are diverse and span across game development, workforce collaboration, marketing, publishing, player experience, security, and corporate activities. Our mission is to bring creative technology services to each of these areas, working across the company to “ensure better play.”

You will report to Director - Software Development

Responsibilities

  • You will design high-volume, low-latency Java applications
  • You will manage the deliverable for assigned development tasks
  • Review the code quality and efficiency including unit tests
  • You will work with large, rich datasets and complex distributed client/server systems
  • You will partner with customer experience to understand how better communicate and support our players
  • Collaborate and work with outstanding designers, engineers of different technical backgrounds, and architects
  • Experience with Agile methodologies to iterate quickly on product changes, developing user stories and working through backlogs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience in Java
  • Experience in server-side software development.
  • Solid Experience with J2EE frameworks such as Spring
  • Experience developing micro-services with Spring Boot
  • Good experience writing unit tests using Junit and Spock framework
  • Experience working in SQL, experience with Databases including, Oracle and MySQL
  • Experience with JDBC and ORM technologies (JPA, EJB, Hibernate)
  • Experience with Enterprise Application Servers (JTomcat, Glassfish)
  • Expertise in modern UI technologies and frameworks like AngularJS, React, AJAX, and Bootstrap
  • Experience with modern distributed architecture and development frameworks (such as SOA, Lambda, Microservices) for scalable and very fast applications
  • Experience working on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud
  • Nice to have experience in MongoDB and Elastic search
  • Nice to have experience in Adobe AEM/CQ5
  • Experience with development tools such as Jenkins, Ant, Maven, and JUnit
  • Experience with source code management tools such as Perforce, Git and SVN
  • Experience with OOP and software design patterns
  • Experience working in Agile methodology
