About the Position:

EA is looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst (contractor) to join our U.S. benefits team.  In this role, you will be responsible for helping manage our U.S. benefits operations, including but not limited to Open Enrollment and ACA compliance.  This hands-on role is responsible for educating employees on our benefit offerings and helping them with their benefit needs and ensuring the smooth operation of our benefit programs and systems including partnering with our vendors and cross-functional colleagues in Payroll, Legal, Finance, etc. A keen eye for detail, a focus on customer service, and excellent stakeholder management skills will be necessary to effectively manage benefit programs, special projects and respond to employee inquiries.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Play a key role in the annual Open Enrollment process: drafting communications, updating the benefits portal, testing the enrollment system, answering employee questions, ensuring accurate processing of elections, and coordinating and hosting Open Enrollment meetings and facilitating Q&A sessions.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to our employees for their U.S. benefits needs: answering employee questions through the benefits inbox and partnering with our benefits broker, carriers and third-party administrators to resolve claims and other issues.
  • Educate employees on our benefit offerings: conducting bi-weekly New Hire Orientation and maintaining our benefits intranet site.
  • Administer online benefits eligibility and enrollment system: help employees navigate Open Enrollment elections and manage qualifying life event changes; run reports to audit the system and pay carrier/vendor invoices timely.
  • Manage ACA reporting process: maintain eligibility reporting and conduct audits of ACA data ensuring offer of coverage is compliant, manage vendor timeline, facilitate year-end ACA process and ensure annual 1095-C forms are filed timely.
  • Audit file transfers: establish and administer recurring and ad-hoc audit processes to ensure accurate processing of benefit elections, carrier interface, payroll files, etc.
  • Manage leave of absence and Workers’ Compensation programs: collaborate with third-party administrators to manage employee consultations, assistance with claims, and ensuring compliance with required notices, paperwork, and accurate leave administration.
  • Stay up-to-date on benefit laws and regulations: read and participate in seminars covering new and existing laws, regulations and guidance applicable to the Plans, including, but not limited to, the ACA (understanding and experience with reporting), ERISA, HIPAA, Section 125/132, and COBRA.
  • Complete benefit surveys and analyze survey results: coordinate or assist with special ad-hoc projects where necessary.
  • Additional duties or different responsibilities within Benefits may be assigned at EA’s discretion.

 

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • BA in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent with 5+ years related experience (or comparable combination of education and experience).
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • A passion for inclusion, diversity and accessibility in all things as they relate to employee programs and company policies.
  • Proactive, collaborative team member with excellent attention to detail and strong sense of urgency and follow through.
  • Outstanding customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, system, & project management skills including ability to balance multiple competing priorities at the same time.
  • Experience in the following areas: research and analysis of health and welfare laws and regulations, understanding of ACA requirements, including experience with ACA reporting and nondiscrimination testing.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion & good judgement.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel, including but not limited to creating and working with pivot tables, vlookups, etc., and working with large data sets. Prior experience with Workday HRMS or BenefitSolver eligibility management system ideal.
