At Darewise Entertainment, we’re developing a massively connected online experience designed to support millions of players across multiple platforms, and our aim is to provide them with huge, open-worlds where they can build societies and establish their own economies, which comes with some exciting challenges.

As a result, we’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to work with our analytics team in building and maintaining data solutions, and utilising tools and technologies to support the analytics processes which will help us to maximise player experience, to ensure that we achieve our retention targets and other KPIs, and generally to optimise the performance of our game Life Beyond.

Please note that this position is either full-time on-site in Paris - or you can work remotely from your home anywhere in Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with other analysts and programmers to build and develop existing data structures which will support with BI and game analytics
  • Build and maintain robust architecture and data pipelines
  • Design and implement scalable systems, tools and interfaces
  • Provide strong data modeling capabilities to the team and be able to design the best data model for each scenario (game analytics, UA and marketing, statistical modeling, executive dashboards etc)
  • Support multiple data sources (internal and external) with configuration and optimization
  • Manage the storage and manipulation of player and game data while always maintaining a focus on privacy and data protection
  • Write clean, maintainable code that is scalable, reliable, and observable

Preferred experience

  • Experience in Data Engineering and BI solutions on services at a similar scale and complexity to a MMO or persistent world game
  • 3+ years of Programming experience. Our backend uses primarily C# (.NET Core) and Python.
  • Excellent with database architecture and query optimization (SQL and NoSQL), experience with BigQuery a major advantage
  • Strong technical background and knowledge of software and data engineering principles
  • Comprehesive understanding of cloud computing
  • Experience with some or most of our current technology stack and languages: AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Hashicorp Vault, Javascript, Python, C#
  • Strong working knowledge of big data solutions and visualization systems (including Tableau, Data Studio etc…)
  • Exceptional problem solving skills with an appetite for learning and staying ahead of the curve with cutting edge technologies and techniques
  • Passion for making games with an interest and willingness to participate in all the aspects of game development
  • Positive, collaborative and professional attitude while working under multiple deadlines
  • Strong English and communication skills, comfortable working with non-technical people and remote teams
  • Self-motivated and driven

Also nice to have:

  • Games industry experience
  • F2P/Games-as-a-service project experience
