We are looking for a highly-skilled Game Writer to join our team. Our ideal candidate is passionate about the art of storytelling through interactive narratives and experienced in writing dialogue, scenes, story treatments, and supporting text for AAA games. We are picturing someone with strong narrative sensibilities who can embrace our game development philosophy and share their hard earned expertise to create an incredible experience for our players.

Job Description

• Working off of overall game story, comes up with detailed narrative plan for a significant chunk of the game (e.g., level or block of missions)
• Pitches story ideas to members of different teams, as well as leadership
• Writes cinematics, dialogue, UI text, and other narrative content
• Writes systemic dialogue (i.e., barks) and ensures proper probability balancing in the game
• Helps set requirements for narrative tools
• Ensures all details of their section of the game is up to par and being tracked
• Helps construct the overall story of the game
• Assist, if needed, with Marketing related content
• Attends recording sessions and ensures VO sessions deliver on character and context
• Clearly communicates story vision to other members of the team

 

Knowledge

• Has a strong understanding of story and game development
• Has previous work as a writer on at least one game
• Has wealth of game knowledge for inspiration and reference

 

Teamwork

• Collaborates closely with a team of different disciplines to bring missions and story to quality
• Collaborates closely with other writers, finding ways to build better story ideas together
• Can effectively gather and filter feedback, gauge player reactions, to effectively iterate on story
• Holds effective level and story discussions, pitches ideas to the team
