Arkane Lyon is developing the upcoming title Marvel’s Blade, a third person, single player, action-adventure set in the heart of Paris. The game is based on the comic book hero Blade and will feature an original story with the studio’s signature immersive gameplay and world-class narrative.

Responsibilities
The lead animator manages a team of animators in order to create a wide variety of compelling animations for our projects: combat, locomotion, in game narration, blocking cinematics.
Under the creative supervision of the animation director and in close collaboration with the animation producer, he/she is responsible of the global animation quality.
- Assist Animation Director in visual & technical reference researches
- Create and maintain documentation about Animation processes/ guidelines and help to enforce best practices
- Provide production support when needed
- Provide mockups & prototype to demonstrate intention & features
- Follow up animators works & carry out animation intentions
- Collaborate daily with other leads and make sure gameplay, animation intentions and technical constraints are merged in the most elegant way possible, with an emphasis on providing a memorable visual experience
- Make sure the deliverables match Arkane’s game standards
- Mentor your team members with clear expectations, hold them accountable for their results
- Play an active role in project planning for your team, in collaboration with the Producing team
- Actively work with other leads and facilitate the information flow
- Embrace change with a positive mindset and create the environment for initiatives to emerge and grow
- Be inclusive and supportive
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Maya & Motion Builder
- Solid understanding of animation principles
- Solid animation skills demonstrated in multiple AAA production experience
- Self-motivated, proactive, with a very strong work ethic and cooperative attitude
- Proven experience as a manager
