Job Description

The Zone HD Production Director for Zone Nordics & Romania is a senior executive responsible for leading and modernizing our HD production strategy and maximize its quality and efficiency to make room for innovation, cutting edge technology and the creation of value-added features for our AAA projects. Zone 3 includes studios such as Massive Entertainment, Ubisoft Stockholm, Redlynx, Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Craiova and works on some of the biggest entertainment IPs in the world.

This key role plays a critical part in guiding the Zone’s production strategy in close collaboration with the Producers, Production Directors, and the Global Production Community within Ubisoft.  

They follow the advancement of projects and provide visibility on progress and issues. With a focus on knowledge sharing and harmonize processes and enable creativity, they are accountable for increasing production efficiency and quality within the zone.

As a member of the Zone Leadership Team reporting to the Managing Director, the zone HD Production Director plays an essential role in validating project roadmaps for the short and long term and co-designing the future operating model together with the Zone Leadership Team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide a control tower view and create zone visibility on overall HD project performance. Anticipate and mitigate zone level production risks, recommend, and work with relevant stakeholders to implement solutions.
  • In collaboration with Producers, Production Directors, MDs and Zone Leadership Team, create and implement the zone HD production strategy for short/medium/long term.
  • Provide an objective perspective on HD project status, to inform and support zone level decision making and priorities.
  • Coach and challenge Producers and Production Directors to improve and create new and better processes and production models.
  • Oversee the Zone production roadmap in collaboration with MDs and mitigate any production staffing issues within the Zone.
  • Harmonize the way of working across studios and follow up to ensure that the HD production standards are followed and properly implemented in the projects.
  • Support the implementation of zone and group strategies within Production.
  • Constantly follow and impact technology groups to improve production.
  • Permanent watch at industry and group level to anticipate opportunities for partnerships and exploitation of innovation that would increase the efficiency and quality of our current and future productions.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing both internally and externally.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for new talent in production.

Experience

  • Previous experience shipping several AAA titles as senior producer, production director or other production leadership role in video games, in an international environment.
  • In-depth knowledge about HD production.
  • In-depth knowledge about HD production technologies.
  • Excellent Project Management and change management skills,
  • Strong experience with production tools and software,
  • Strong experience in each phasis of production, including live.
  • Extensive knowledge of production functions,
  • Deep understanding and lived experience in the zone would be a plus.
