As a Senior Financial Accountant, in the Riot Games Sao Paulo office. You will own the day-to-day accounting and compliance for our Brazil Office; making sure we meet all of our monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and compliance both locally and internationally. You'll handle the preparation of statutory statements and own the completion of the annual statutory audit. You will have a risk mindset in protecting Riot and will have a critical eye for controls and processes.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead on the monthly close reporting process ensuring reconciliations and reports are completed on time and accurately for your entity
  • You will ensure Riot Brazil is complying with all local company reporting requirements including preparation of statutory accounts annually, completion of the statutory audit, filing of statutory accounts with authorities and making sure compliant with Digital Accounting Declarations
  • Working with the local Brazil legal team you will make sure that Riot Brazil is meeting its requirements for holding board meetings and AGMs including the approval of the statutory accounts
  • You will know the business of Riot Brazil deeply and have a risk mindset to see where issues can arise and work with teams to manage these risks
  • You will work with local HR team and 3rd party payroll providers to own the monthly payroll and ensure Riot is compliant with all required Brazilian compliance, payroll taxes and reporting including INSS, FGTS, RAT, Income tax and Social Security taxes
  • You will support global tax teams and coordinate with local Brazilian tax advisors to make sure Riot Brazil has met its filing and payment requirements for a variety of tax including VAT, ICMS and Corporation Tax. You will support global tax team on providing information for transfer pricing analysis using accounting information and knowledge of the Brazilian Entity
  • With local 3rd party advisors you will manage the Source-to-Pay process for Riot Brazil; ensuring vendors on onboarded, planned spend is appropriately approved, invoices are processed and payments are made to our suppliers
  • Managing the Brazil Entities cash flow monthly
  • You will help review current processes and systems and look for new ways of working and automation
  • Manage various third-party relationships on payroll, accounting and audits to help Riot meet its local statutory and compliance requirements across regions
  • You have clear and fact-driven communication skills and know how to keep stakeholders informed and working towards your end goals
  • You will be detailed driven making sure our numbers are reconciled and processes have been followed by the business and the group

Required Qualifications 

  • 6-8+ years of full-time experience in accounting and external audit; with Big 4 company experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA/ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and IFRS
  • Working knowledge of month-end closing procedures, process implementations and improvements and local Brazilian compliance requirements
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English and Portuguese
