The Devices Sustainability Team is responsible for gathering data to understand our carbon impact, defining leading-edge criteria, and influencing hardware design to reduce carbon emissions in alignment with Meta’s 2030 Net Zero Commitment. As a sustainability Technical Program Manager, you will drive implementation of technical sustainability programs that assist in carbon reduction efforts. You will be responsible for driving net-new sustainability initiatives, defining goals, prioritizing initiatives and developing a roadmap plan to intercept new processes into products. This position will require a great deal of cross functional leadership and communication with teams that are not familiar with the subject matter. You must be able to listen to concerns and challenges and influence teams to move in the right direction.
Technical Program Manager, Sustainability, Devices Responsibilities
  • Technical Program Manager for Devices sustainability initiatives across Reality Labs product lines including Quest, Wearables, AR, and Accessories
  • Collaborate closely with Sustainability Engineers to drive data collection, analysis, and design recommendations to assist with carbon reduction
  • End-to-end ownership of sustainability initiatives including Life-Cycle Analysis implementation during the product development process and goal and metrics definition.
  • Continuously innovate and improve processes to drive best practice sustainability approaches into the product development process and ensure the process lands with each new program
  • Build the bridge between Devices sustainability and direct engineering teams, creating relationships and influencing designs
  • Present sustainability updates and recommendations to leadership, distilling key information on trade-offs and driving strategic scope alignment
  • ~15% domestic or international travel
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in engineering or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on program management experience
  • Knowledge of sustainability measurement methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of sustainability experience
  • Experience developing high-volume, sustainable products
  • Clear understanding of sustainability trends and leading technologies
  • Demonstrated experience driving consumer electronics design cycles
  • Experience working with life-cycle analysis consultants and suppliers

$134,000/year to $196,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
