THE ROLE:         
 
We are seeking a Production Development Director who is experienced in production through all phases of game development. They must possess a focus and interest in exploring AI-driven storytelling and be excited to find and work with co-development teams to help them ship great interactive experiences.

  • A person with a broad and deep awareness of the various AI tools, technologies, methodologies, and how they might be brought to bear in creating storytelling-focused interactive experiences.
  • Experienced in producing interactive experiences that have shipped on multiple platforms to financial success.
  • Comfortable working in the highly iterative and ambiguous realities of an incubation environment while also driving products to completion.
  • Enthusiastic about creating a wide range of experiences for all types of players.
  • Effective at breaking down complex ideas and communicating them effectively across all disciplines to a wide array of audiences.
  • An excellent mentor and leader; able to guide a team to improve their craft.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:         
  • Apply your knowledge and passion for AI and storytelling by working with a team of like-minded peers to ideate potential product concepts.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager, Product Director, Narrative & Franchise Director, Technical Director, and Visual Director to ensure all production efforts align with a given product’s creative and business pillars.
  • Create and manage milestone plans and budgets for multiple products.
  • Provide clear, consistent, and constructive feedback to external partners in pursuit of the product’s core pillars while maintaining milestone timelines and budgets.
  • Define the production development strategy for the team’s products, collaborating closely with cross-functional or external teams to ensure alignment with the team’s vision, mission, and goals.
  • Research, engage with, and evaluate potential vendors, technologies, co-devs, and other partners as part of planning and executing various product plans.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging AI methods/technologies, and best production practices, incorporating new insights and innovations into the team’s production development processes.
  • Will be responsible for maintaining all production-related tools and documentation.
  • Must be effective at presenting production plans at all stages of development.
  • Responsible for managing the relationships with Legal, Finance, and Partnerships.
  • Direct the production process for co-development-driven products, from concept to launch, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage product budgets and milestones, identifying and mitigating risks to minimize product delays or budget overruns.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, vendors, and co-development studios, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the production process.
  • An ideal person in this role will know production methodology inside and out, be able to pivot and problem solve as needed, with knowledge of every contract related to the team’s efforts, every nuanced bit of finance data, and constantly look for ways to improve the operational efficacy of the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:   
  • Proven experience as a Production Director or similar role in the video game industry, with a track record of successfully delivering high-quality games on time and within budget.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to create and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering collaboration, communication, and teamwork.
  • Deep understanding of game development processes, methodologies, and best practices, with a passion for innovation and excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard game development tools, software, and technologies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and requirements.

Compensation:       
 
  • This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position. 
  • The full salary range for this position is $197,200 - $305,600 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. When an offer is made, many factors are considered, such as your unique experience and skills, where you live, where the work will be performed, what similar jobs pay, internal equity, and what you're looking for.  
  • In addition to base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for additional incentives, such as a sign-on bonus and short- and long-term incentives. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
