Game Capture Artist / Video Editor – Sonic Mobile Team

Sega HARDlight is looking for a Game Capture Artist/Video Editor to capture and craft video content for our successful live mobile games, Sonic Forces and Sonic Dash, and support our other titles on Apple Arcade and Netflix. You’ll be part of the team that help bring players to our games, and keep existing players informed and excited about new updates.   
   
Alongside video content you will also have the opportunity to work on static marketing artwork (adverts, screenshots, key art)   
   
The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, can prioritise their tasks and times and react quickly to the dynamic nature of live service games.   

Responsibilities

  • Capture gameplay from device and directly from the game engine that clearly demonstrates the best features of our games.
  • Create and edit marketing videos using game footage.
  • Work with the creative teams to concept and develop the style of our marketing assets.
  • Create static marketing artwork for use on social media, SEGA websites and App stores.
  • Work with the User Acquisition, Live Ops, Marketing, social media and game teams at HARDlight and SEGA of America to ensure video content reflects the best features of the games, delivers on current market trends and improves the performance of our games.
  • With an eye for detail, quality checking your own work to ensure smooth delivery and react to any feedback in a timely manner.
  • Keep files and documentation meticulously organised.
  • Ensure all assets created adhere to the Sonic IP guidelines.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Basic knowledge or an interest in learning how to use Unity to record gameplay and set up custom cameras (or similar experience of Unreal or other game engines).
  • A keen eye for framing and lining up video footage to bring the best aspects of the game to the forefront.
  • A good understanding of video editing and video production to help create an optimised pipeline with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Graphic design skills - composition, colour theory and typography.
  • Good understanding of games and the gameplay experience.
  • Technical understanding of different video and compression formats.

Bonus experiences

  • An understanding of AB experiments to improve the performance of marketing assets.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D software.
  • Experience and an understanding of live ops and games as a service.
  • Motion graphics skills.
  • Concept / Illustration skills.
