Job Description

The Local IT Area Manager defines, executes and is accountable for the employee facing IT strategy of Ubisoft in its area and maintains highly efficient operations aligned with both the world-wide IT standards and the site's business needs.

You oversee Customer satisfaction and the Quality of services provided by the sites in your scope. You must also ensure an efficient collaborative environment in the team as making sure the team capacity is good to provide the right level of services.

The Local IT Area Manager will understand the expectations of all site management within scope and align accordingly IT team priorities & projects.

You are the point of contact for all Local IT partners on strategic topics and escalations within your scope. You represent all IT departments in your area and therefore need to deeply understand their roles, usages, and best practices to support Ubisoft Employees.

In this context, your missions will be the following:

  • Manage the team, creating a collaborative, efficient and productive working environment;
  • Be sure the Local IT teams are well connected with local stakeholders and the other IT teams;
  • Own the area decision process and develop the strategic objectives in alignment with the global strategy and the individual strategies within the area;
  • Understand and align the vision, objectives and needs of offices into a prioritized actionable IT strategy for the area;
  • Gather feedback from representatives and oversee the service quality KPI's of all individual entities within the region to ensure service quality is in line with expectations and targets;
  • Provide reporting for Area team budget, performance, projects and staffing towards the management of all individual entities within the area and the Local IT Director;
  • Be the managerial escalation level for the management of all individual entities within the area, ensure sites needs are met in support escalation situations;
  • Be liaison between the global IT management, the site management team and the management of the entities within the area;
  • Own or contribute to initiatives and projects with global scope or that have high importance within the area;
  • Represent and advocate the area interests within the global IT organization;
  • Identify, and suggest Local IT Communities to exchange knowledge and visibility on the Ubisoft needs and activities.

Qualifications

Relevant experience 

  • You have experience in developing, leading and managing IT teams (on-site or distributed);
  • You have experience in organizational and team structure design, in executing strategies for operational IT organization units, and experience in benefit-driven and data-driven decision management;
  • You have experience in negotiation, in complex communication environments;
  • Additionally, you have experience in budget management;

Experience in project management, ITIL v3 or higher, PMP / Prince2 certifications are a plus for this role.

Skills and knowledge 

  • To perform in this role, you will need strong listening and communication skills in English and French (spoken and written). Additionally, you will need great team leadership skills, as well as the ability to prioritize broad range of topics efficiently & make decisions quickly, to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • As an Area Manager, you will also need strong management and organizational skills, a service-oriented mentality, continuous improvement mindset and the ability to work autonomously with ownership; furthermore, you need to master the ability to work well in teams, to cooperate and communicate with individuals and stakeholders from various backgrounds and hierarchical levels;
  • Broad technical IT knowledge is a must for this position.
