Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control®, Max Payne®, Alan Wake® and one of the leading independent game studios in the world is looking for a Cinematic Designer to create high quality gaming experiences for the next generation of games
 
Are you passionate about creating memorable gaming experiences through a well-balanced mix of compelling narrative and intense action? As a Cinematic Designer, your responsibilities will be to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to turn the vision of the game’s narrative into in-engine AAA cinematic sequences.

What you get to do

    • In this role you will help break down screenplays into stage blocking and previsualization for cinematic scenes 
    • You will provide implementation advice during planning stages, to ensure the feasibility of future cinematics 
    • You will use film editing techniques to create video edit references, turning linear motion capture material into impactful cut-based cinematics 
    • You will also implement reference video edits as real-time cinematics in the game engine, using proprietary scripting and timeline editing tools 
    • You will collaborate with teams such as Level Design, Environment Art, Audio etc. to ensure that the cinematics you implement blend seamlessly into the game context 
    • You will debug potential problems in and around cinematics 
    • You will ensure that consistent communication is maintained, in all directions, to guarantee the quality of the game 
    • You’ll provide accurate time estimations for tasks and meet production deadlines 

What you bring to the role

    • You have demonstrable previous experience as a Cinematic Designer, preferably working with AAA games, 1st or 3rd person, on pc or console
    • You are knowledgeable and worked with scripting languages like Lua, C#or others 
    • You have experience with video editing in NLE software such as Vegas/Premiere/Resolve/etc. 
    • You have a good understanding of film language and basic photo/cinematography principles 
    • You thrive working in a team environment, sharing ideas, mentoring as well as learning from others  
    • You are used to collaborating with colleagues across different departments and you can communicate and present your ideas in a clear way. As a team member you are dedicated towards a friendly and inclusive work environment
