The position
As the CFO, you will play a vital role within our organization, overseeing all financial aspects while contributing to the strategic trajectory of Avalanche Studios Group. Collaborating closely with the CEO and management team, you will shape and execute financial strategies aligned with our growth objectives. This includes ensuring the seamless and effective operation of our creative production environment. Your ability to harmonize a robust commercial perspective with an in-depth understanding of creative production will be essential to your success.

What you´ll do

    • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with Avalanche Studios Group´s goals. Provide expert guidance on financial planning,budgeting, and forecasting.
    • Operational Leadership: Provide financial leadership and operational insights to drive the success of Avalanche Studios Group. Oversee financial operations, internal controls, and risk management. Beyond entrepreneurial spirit, showcase a deep understanding of corporate dynamics and how they influence financial strategies and planning.
    • Performance Analysis: Monitor vital financial metrics and trends, deriving actionable insights and offering guidance to optimize performance and profitability.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating closely with department heads to ensure accurate forecasting and resource allocation.
    • Financial Reporting: Produce timely, precise financial reports, statements, and analyses for the CEO and management team. Provide strategic recommendations driven by financial insights.
    • Investment and Capital Management: Collaborate with the CEO and management team to evaluate investment opportunities, conduct financial due diligence, and guide capital allocation decisions. In the process enhancing financial comprehension, contributing to more informed decision-making.
    • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, legal requisites, and internal policies. Develop risk management strategies to mitigate financial exposure.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish genuine relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including publishers, management, board members, and Nordisk Games. This supports business development, captures synergies and cultivates partnership endeavors.
    • Team Leadership: Supervise the finance and accounting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to maintain high productivity and professional growth.

    • Commercial Acumen: Exhibit adeptness in harmonizing financial objectives with creative and operational goals. Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial Stakeholders.
    • Financial Proficiency: Demonstrate comprehensive financial expertise spanning analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
    • Operational Proficiency: Illustrate a proven history of managing financial operations, including risk management, internal controls, and process enhancements within creative production environments.
    • Strategic Insight: Contribute to the overarching business strategy with strategic thinking. Identify avenues for growth, cost optimization, and operational streamlining.
    • Leadership Skills: Display exemplary leadership and team management capabilities. Illustrate a history of cultivating “high-achieving” teams and fostering a collaborative ethos.
    • Versatility: Ability to translate creative insights, providing a bridge between artistic vision and financial opportunities and impact.
    • Communication Aptitude: Possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Effectively convey intricate financial concepts to diverse audiences. 
    • Adaptability: Thrive within a diverse, fast-paced environment. Display resilience and flexibility in navigating shifting priorities and challenges.
    • Education: Hold a Master´s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. An MBA or ACCA certification is advantageous.
    • Experience: Accumulate a minimum of 10 years in progressive finance and accounting roles, including substantial tenure as a CFO or senior finance executive within a creative production environment.

Our Stockholm office is situated in Södermalm, the beating heart of the city’s game industry. It’s a physical representation of our games – the lush vegetation of Just Cause and theHunter: Call of the Wild meets corroded metal straight out of Mad Max. It has everything you need to make it your creative base camp.
