Job Description

Online programming is a key discipline here a Ubisoft Singapore, they are crucial in delivering the enjoyable connected experience players have come to expect from Ubisoft Games. Online Programmers face multiple challenges in developing, integrating and maintaining high-end service platforms. They ensure that millions of players are simultaneously immersed in a seamless and rich game experience they can enjoy with their friends regardless of where and how they connect. With the Online programming team, and in collaboration with the Online Architect, you are accountable for the following:

 

  • Work closely with design and implementation of world class-leading online features and backend systems in relation to live gaming;
  • Integrate online solutions & implement practical and timely solutions that meet the game design and technical requirements;
  • Help define good programming practices and coding standards, and ensure they are enforced within the engineering team through regular peer code reviews;
  • Identify potential issues within the code, raise flags and propose solutions;
  • Keeps abreast of changes related to online gaming within the industry.
  • Prioritize and manage the programming team’s backlog
  • Optimal programming team organization and programmers’ allocation;
  • Code quality: code review, appropriate use of design patterns, best practices…
  • Stability and performance (memory, CPU, bandwidth…);

Qualifications

  • Excellent programming skills and ideally solid knowledge of C++ and/or C#, operating at a Senior level.
  • Knowledge about server and database programming, distributed systems and online services;
  • Experiences working with Kubernetes;
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change quickly with ongoing live game components
  • Able to articulate well with team members, be proactive looking at various issue when it comes to online architecture/systems & back end services
  • Relevant experience working in gaming and desirably live gaming or AAA titles, current and next-gen consoles;
