To this end, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - Engineering (Game Studios)  who can join our team and help pave the way towards our new goals.


About the position
As a Business Development Manager specializing in Engineering at Virtuos, you will be pivotal in driving the company's growth and long-term success by delivering cutting-edge software engineering solutions to game studios. You will leverage your industry expertise and passion for video gaming to foster robust, lasting relationships with our clients, ensuring we meet their present and future needs with precision and innovation.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification and development of a robust pipeline of new business opportunities within the game studio landscape, focusing on software engineering solutions that address client obstacles and harness internal capabilities.
  • Oversee the salesforce process for your assigned territory, ensuring a healthy, transparent, and continuously advancing pipeline.
  • Cultivate and deepen relationships with existing game studio accounts, strategically maximizing revenue opportunities, and reinforcing partnership solidity.
  • Collaborate closely with the production department to assess opportunities, formulate tailored proposals, and drive the negotiation and finalization of contracts. Facilitate clients' on-site visits and manage the due diligence process with finesse.
  • Account Management: Conduct consistent after-sales follow-ups. Engage in regular discussions with clients to gauge satisfaction, gather feedback, and proactively respond to their evolving demands.
  • Ensure the meticulous use of our communication and sales systems for detailed, timely, and pertinent reporting and forecasting.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to mitigate competitive threats within the gaming industry, securing our position as a preferred partner.
  • Be the face of Virtuos at key gaming industry events, showcasing our commitment to pioneering software engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate with the Associate Director of Business Development and EMEA Director, enhancing cross-regional dynamics. Lead the initiative in setting universal standards for communication and updates across various markets.
  • In liaison with the Associate Director of Business Development, broaden our outreach to non-profit/charitable organizations related to gaming. Assess and amplify Virtuos' role in supporting charitable causes within the gaming community across Europe.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, providing a strong foundation for the complex demands of software solutions in game development.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience in game software development, showcasing familiarity with the gaming industry's technical needs and challenges. Experience in a studio environment is a strong plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in Business Development or any client-facing position
  • Demonstrated technical acumen and understanding of software engineering, including front-end, back-end, and database management, specifically within a gaming context.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and clients, translating specific software solutions and development services into accessible language and compelling business propositions.
  • Continual learning mindset, staying current with the latest gaming trends, software development technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and innovatively in high-pressure situations.
  • Willingness to undertake travel commitments as per business needs.
  • Genuine passion for the realm of gaming, with enthusiasm for both creating and indulging in games.
