Senior Sound Designer (Unannounced project)

Job Overview

Wargaming Berlin is on the search for an experienced and creative Senior Sound Designer to spearhead the development of the audio landscape for a thrilling new IP. This role demands a creative and proactive individual capable of collaborating closely with the Creative and Product Leadership teams. The successful candidate will be instrumental in defining and crafting the audio identity of a new mobile project, involving the creation and delivery of SFX, voice-over, and background music.

What will you do?

• Collaboratively develop the audio direction of the product alongside Creative Leadership.
• Establish and manage audio subsystems, ensuring the integration of bespoke sound effects using Wwise and UE5
• Oversee and implement audio events utilizing UE5 and Wwise
• Direct and coordinate efforts with outsourcing partners, including crafting creative briefs, or alternatively, develop and manage an internal sound design team.
• Forge strong partnerships with Tech Leads to ensure seamless audio integration and system functionality.
• Maintain and enhance audio-related documentation and contribute to the expansion of the in-house sound library.

What are we looking for?

• At least 6 years of professional experience in a comparable role in the gaming industry.
• Profound expertise in your preferred Digital Audio Workstation, including plugins and sound libraries.
• Experience with game audio mixing pipelines
• Proven experience working with Unreal Engine 5 and Wwise.
• A keen sense of style and a deep comprehension of the role of audio in enhancing gameplay experience.
• Strong technical acumen in sound design, with proficiency in coding and blueprinting.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Skills in Music Composition (Note: This role does not encompass Music Composition as a primary task).
• A foundational understanding of programming/scripting.
• Experience in recording or directing voiceovers will be considered a significant advantage.
