Job Description

About the Role

At the Chengdu studio, you will join the lighting team and participate in the studio's next "Assassin's Creed" project.

The lighting artist needs to have the ability to control the visual style and overall atmosphere of the scene, work closely with other teams, maintain visual aesthetics while ensuring smooth gameplay and stable performance, and quickly identify and resolve lighting issues raised by other teams to ensure they achieve their goals.

 

What you will do

 

  • Generate internal and external lighting (indoor, outdoor, etc.) for open environments in our proprietary game engine following technical specifications.
  • Analyze environments to maximize the lighting quality of characters and environments, balancing performance and lighting quality.
  • Collaborate with environment level artists and level designers to propose, implement, and optimize lighting in each environment and location.
  • Resolve lighting issues from other teams and provide technical support when necessary.

Qualifications

What you will bring

 

  • Passion for AAA games.
  • Experience as a lighting artist in real-time rendering game projects.
  • Rich understanding of the theory of different types of artificial or natural light sources, physical light, power color temperature, and PBR rendering.
  • Familiarity with CGI technology applied to lighting for real-time and pre-computed rendering.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and independent working skills.
  • Knowledge of film photography: framing, lens ratios.
