Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control®, Quantum Break®, Max Payne®, Alan Wake® and Death Rally® and one of the leading independent game studios in the world is looking for a Senior Development Manager for a key position in Remedy's game engine Northlight. 

Northlight, our proprietary storytelling engine powering all Remedy games, has a critical role in ensuring the success of our current and future games. The Northlight team consists of more than 60 dedicated professionals, including programmers, engineers, development managers, technical artists, and designers, all working with the game teams to create intriguing game experiences. 

We are now looking to expand the team with an experienced Senior Development Manager to help drive Northlight development efforts and enable the production of Remedy games.

What you get to do

    • As a Senior Development Manager, you will be responsible for the engine backlog for several Northlight teams and proactively triaging requests from the game teams to ensure that high-priority items are clarified and making progress across the Northlight teams
    • Define and communicate short-term and long-term roadmaps and expectations to inform stakeholders of progress and changes
    • Align scope and schedule targets with Northlight’s Development Director, Development Managers and engine teams
    • Manage cross-team and cross-discipline dependencies, communicating with relevant stakeholders and Development Managers from the game projects to ensure efficiency
    • Contributing to process development with Northlights management team and Remedy’s production craft

What you bring to the role

    • You have excellent project management skills and hands-on experience leading technical teams using development methodologies and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban and LEAN 
    • You have experience managing large-scale software deliveries and clarifying requirements, both on a task and project/program level 
    • You can optimize workflows and handle cross-team/cross-discipline communications with highly technical development teams on complex topics, like memory management, performance optimization, streaming, graphics rendering, etc. 
    • You can unravel technical topics with subject matter experts to map dependencies and alternative solutions and assess risks
    • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English 
    • You thrive working in a team environment, sharing ideas, and learning from others. You are used to collaborating with colleagues across different departments and you are able to communicate and present your ideas in a clear and coherent way. As a team member, you are dedicated to contributing towards a friendly and inclusive work environment 
    • You have the ability to work independently, being organized and able to document your work

    • Nice to have
    • Developer background in C++ or C# 
    • Experience in game engine development or product development, especially building platforms/solutions extended or used by third parties
    • Knowledge of Atlassian tooling (Confluence, Jira)
