Job Description

When you’re a Rendering Engineer Console/Mobile at Ubisoft, you connect with our players on two of the most fundamental aspects of a game: its visuals and performance. Your exceptional 3D math skills, a sharp eye for visual detail, and knowledge of GPUs allow you to write our most fundamental code and deliver a stunning visual experience.

As a member of our Singapore team, you collaborate with colleagues worldwide from various disciplines who depend on your expertise and knowledge sharing. You work well with artists, transforming their requirements into efficient, working code.

Responsibilities 

  • Developing graphics technology to take full advantage of our user’s mobile devices
  • Communicating with tech artists and artists to improve visual fidelity and rendering speed
  • Implementing new graphics features and exposing these to gameplay C++
  • Extending C++ code to take advantage of new rendering techniques
  • Work closely with mobile/console hardware to find performance optimizations
  • Working on all aspects of rendering, from the content creation tools to the data pipeline to the render backend to the GPU in the engine
  • Developing and optimizing shaders (HLSL code) on the GPU

Qualifications

Experience required:

  • Solid understanding of graphics programming for mobile devices or related experience in console or PC development
  • A successful rendering engineer will have experience working directly with graphics APIs, including d3d, Vulkan, OpenGL, or similar.
  • A proficiency to communicate with all disciplines and to support and elevate the team in terms of visuals and performance
  • A thorough grasp of vector math, memory management & multithreaded programming techniques
  • Experience developing on video game consoles or mobile platforms and in performance optimization for mobile platforms
  • Willingness to continue learning new technologies, engines, rendering techniques, programming languages, etc.
  • Android, iOS, or Console Rendering programming experience
  • GPU Optimization, shaders, and platform experience
