Job Description

Blue Mammoth Games makes the highly successful online game Brawlhalla that serves millions of active players on a variety of platforms. We are passionate about games and we strive to create a flexible, collaborative work environment. We are looking for an experienced game developer who can write solid, reliable code for a game that is always growing and improving.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement features and improvements for Brawlhalla that releases to our players on a monthly basis
  • Write reliable and maintainable code that runs on computers, game consoles and mobile phones
  • Collaborate across multiple disciplines on new game features
  • Identify and fix crashes and bugs affecting our game client
  • Test your own code thoroughly and assist QA in formulating a test plan for features you've developed
  • Work in a large existing codebase and review other programmers' code
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor less experienced engineers

Qualifications

 

  • Solid knowledge of programming concepts with the ability to apply them to a variety of tasks
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of professional game industry experience or experience shipping one or more games
  • Ability to break down large problems into well organized concepts and tasks
  • Ability to manage your own work and operate independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work and collaborate well with programmers, designers and artists
  • Have a passion for video games and delivering the best player experience
  • Prior experience programming console or mobile games is a big plus
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is a big plus
  • Experience with game UI/UX, C++, SQL or networking programming is a plus
  • Experience managing other programmers is a plus
