The position

Job description

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team, and take our infrastructure to the next level. As a DevOps Engineer, you will maintain and enhance our existing on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, emphasizing security, reliability, stability, speed, and robustness. You will be responsible for the CI/CD pipeline and game servers.

You will work with other members of the Backend & DevOps team to ensure that our infrastructure is up-to-date and running smoothly. You will also help design and implement new tools and processes to improve our production and live services of our persistent cooperative multiplayer web3 game, Life Beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve Life Beyond Studios’ infra for the continuous integration, deployment and automated testing system
  • Ensure the security and reliability of the service through best practices and recovery procedures. (secrets, encryption algorithm, …)
  • Maintain and improve Life Beyond Studios' on-premises and cloud infrastructure (GCP) as well as its configuration (Terraform) and deployment processes
  • Implement backend APIs and internal tools to observe or interact with all the components of the backend and the platform
  • Ensure stability, speed and robustness of all the automated processes to deliver a fast iteration time and an uninterrupted service
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and implement improvements to our infrastructure.

    • Preferred experience

  • 2+ years experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other public cloud (AWS, Azure…)
  • Strong knowledge of continuous integrations and continuous delivery
  • Experience with virtualization, orchestration and containers (proxmox, docker, kubernetes, terraform)
  • Good C# / .Net Core skills
  • Strong scripting skills in Python
  • Understanding of client/server multiplayer game architecture and common patterns / services
  • Well-versed in backend development including with Rest API design and implementation (Web3 API design experience is a massive plus!)
  • *Databases (SQL & NoSQL) administration & query optimization
  • Backend development
  • Knowledgeable in security best practises, specifically for distributed systems, and for secrets management, encryption of data and communications
  • Experience with Grafana and either Loki or Prometheus
  • Some experience working with C++ and/or Javascript
  • Understanding of Data analyst pipeline
  • Experience working in game development
  • Interest in Web3 Api Design and the blockchain ecosystem
