ABOUT THE POSITION

Our team is currently working on a brand new and ambitious project for next-gen consoles and PC, created in Unreal Engine 5, and we are looking for a full-time Technical Artist who will be responsible for the creation and integration of art-driven tools, and graphical features. 

As a Technical Artist, you'll be participating in implementing a wide range of graphical features and collaborating with the art team to maintain stable performance throughout the game.

Working closely with artists, engineers, and other technical artists will be part of your responsibilities in this position as you look for short-term and long-term improvements. We need someone that can work well with others, has a great attitude toward working as a team, and is eager to improve the work of others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver systems and art-driven tools that enable artistic teams to deliver the creative vision effectively.
  • Create master materials for specific assets, such as characters, environment assets, and effects.
  • Enforce good practices and performance guidelines and shared responsibilities within the art teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with other artists, programmers, designers, Directors, and Producers to improve the way art is created and integrated.
  • Be the expert technical voice in design meetings and deliver art-directable features.
  • Documenting tech limitations and tools.
  • Keeping the Tech Art & Art team guidelines up to date.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Great technical skills
  • At least one AA or AAA title shipped for PC and/or consoles in a Technical Art Position.
  • Knowledge of 2D, 3D and animation packages and pipelines
  • Knowledge principally in Unreal Engine and Familiarty with UE4 Blueprints
  • Familiarity with UE4 materials logic, pipeline and best practices
  • Familiarity with UE4 VFX logic, pipeline and best practices
  • Ability to prototype TA features, solutions and pipelines
  • Ability to integrate graphical features into gameplay mechanics
  • Familiarity with optimization techniques, profiling and real-time performance
  • Excellent communication skills, so you can teach and mentor artists and collaborate with other teams

BONUS POINTS IF

  • Familiarity with Houdini
  • Coding in C++, HLSL, or Python language
  • Excellent knowledge of physically based rendering (PBR)
