Project Gemini is a yet unannounced AAA game developed with Square Enix – the publisher of our recent AAA title, Outriders. The game development involves primarily our Europe based teams.

Job Description

Overview:

On Project Gemini, the Endgame modes and content will form a large and important part of the overall scope of the game. We are looking for a Principal Game Designer who will be responsible for overseeing this area of the game from a design perspective, based on the vision of the Creative Director and the needs of the Game Design Director. You will ensure all the Endgame design elements come together in a cohesive whole with a focus on quality.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Game Design Director, project leadership, and the design team, to define the Endgame modes and content which uphold the design vision.
  • Communicate the design needs horizontally and vertically across the team.
  • Look at the big picture of the Endgame, ensuring features and systems are properly connected and considered holistically by designers and the development team.
  • Be a part of the design process for Endgame features, from conception and documentation to production, review, and final delivery with a clear focus on quality.
  • Gather feedback from internal and external reviews, and from analytical data sets, and use it to determine solutions and new opportunities to design problems.
  • Think ahead to anticipate and proactively capitalize on future industry trends and developments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the video game industry in design roles on AAA titles, including at least 2 as a senior or expert designer.
  • Experience with all phases of a game production, from conception to closing.
  • Experience with online, post launch or live service design is heavily favored.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • An open-minded and collaborative communicator, open to constructive criticism.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, ready to learn, understand challenges, anticipate problems, and act decisively.
  • Understanding of post launch and live business models, and how to balance them with design needs.
  • Proficiency in English, to communicate with PCF teams in North America and Europe.
