Position Title: Software Engineer I

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Frostbite team!

This is an 18 month temporary contract role

Frostbite is a technology and collaboration platform for diverse game franchises, such as FIFA, Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Need for Speed and Plant vs. Zombies Garden Warfare. Thousands of game developers all over the world are using Frostbite to create some of the best-looking games in the industry!

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be part of a talented versatile team developing the tools and game runtime behind the amazing worlds you see in Frostbite games. This includes the workflows and systems for building levels and objects in Frostbite.


Responsibilities

  • You will write high-quality code, review and provide feedback on technical designs and code written by other Software Engineers..
  • You will improve on usability, tool performance and stability to power our users to create stunning games.
  • You will identify performance bottlenecks in simulated game team scenarios and develop or advise on solutions to help Frostbite and strategic partners create solutions that solve challenges.
  • You will develop solutions for issues being encountered by EA's games in their usage of the Frostbite engine.
  • You will work with Frostbite engine domain experts to develop or escalate and prioritize issues and solutions.
  • Expand your knowledge of game engine domains by working across multiple disciplines.
  • You will participate in proactive engagements with Frostbite partners (internal studios, game teams) to understand the challenges for them and identify scenarios Frostbite needs to improve.
  • You will collaborate with partners to develop roadmaps, the latest tools, and runtime technologies for game developers across EA worldwide related to Frostbite features.
  • You will collaborate with game teams and domain teams to improve workflows and processes that make engagement and support of games easier for the whole Frostbite team.

Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related academic program, or equivalent training and professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in C++. Optionally C# or Python

Bonuses

  • Experience with game engines (Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, etc)
  • Experience in AAA development environment
