ABOUT THE POSITION

Our dynamic team is looking for a full-time Technical Artist to work on Art Tools and Pipeline on a brand new and ambitious project for next-gen consoles and PC, built in Unreal Engine 5. As a TA in this position, you will play a pivotal role in creating and implementing tools and scripts to enhance our talented Art Teams to achieve the artistic vision effectively and reach the next level of art creation quality.

Collaborating with Artists, Engineers and other Technical Artists, you'll seek to implement short-term and long-term improvements to the company pipeline, with the long-term goal of unifying the toolset.

As the Technical Artist, you'll have the opportunity to be a driving force behind the development of scripts and plugins for leading content creation programs like, but not limited to, Maya, Motion Builder, 3ds Max and the Substance suite. Our goal is to provide our artists with tools that exceed their expectations, allowing them to create awe-inspiring art with speed and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in efforts to unify the art tools, and pipeline between the various offices and outside collaborators
  • Create, document and maintain tools/scripts to support and improve art production workflows
  • Collaborate with Art Leads and Art Teams to analyze and break down the various teams' current manual processes in order to streamline and automate them with the least amount of downtime
  • Work along with the technical leads and the Technical Art Director to investigate and consider potential fixes for the content creation issues with tools and pipelines on interconnected tools, pipelines and systems
  • Elevate the ways content creation is done
  • Adding your experience and improving the way our tools, pipelines, and services are versioned, packaged, deployed, and distributed
  • Create code and scripts that are easy to maintain and iterate

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent English speaking and documentation skills
  • Experience with AA or AAA Art pipelines
  • Ability to plan and carry out long-term projects involving complex pipelines and tools
  • Fluency in at least some of the relevant scripting languages, such as Python, C++, C# and DCC Api’s and scripting languages
  • Good knowledge of any of the standard 3D package (3DS Max, Maya, MotionBuilder or Substance suite preferably) 
  • Experience with any version control system
  • Being organized and time-conscious

BONUS POINTS IF

  • You have relevant experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5
  • Scripting and tool-building experience in 3DS Max, MotionBuilder, Maya, or the Substance suite
  • Prior experience as a tools and pipeline technical artist or similar speciality with similar responsibilities
  • You have experience with Houdini and creating tools/pipeline with it
  • Experience with Perforce automations
  • You have videos, or examples in which we can see relevant examples of your work
  • Working and creating professionally in a multi-platform, multi-project setting
