The Challenge Ahead:

Our group is there to provide accurate and timely financial reporting, as required by local GAAP or SEC compliance (US GAAP) in collaboration with partners as FP&A, Tax and Business and auditors

As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for general ledger management, financial close and reporting for two legal entities including one based in France.

The role is preferably to be based in Lyon, but possibly in one of the other hubs in Guilford. You will report to the Finance manager based in Lyon, France.

 

What a Senior Accountant does at EA:

Strong control and review of financial close process, with specific attention to standard accounting (primarily under US GAAP) and data reconciliation issues;

  • Responsible for rigorously planning and controlling tasks pertaining to achieve demanding US-driven reporting deadlines
  • Responsibility for local statutory and tax reporting (data for VAT return, Corporate Income Tax return, Transfer Pricing adjustment, Tax calculation and other local compliance document filings)
  • Prepare reconciliations and month-end close reporting for local and Corporate requirements using ERP
  • Ownership and management of balance sheet accounts, including ad-hoc analysis of transactional activity;
  • Perform and document controls related to financial reporting
  • Day to day responsibility for the resolution of ledgers issues and queries, including managing the interface with other Finance teams / EA departments, resolving technical accounting issues, preparing memos
  • Contact point for both external and internal audit teams;
  • Support the implementation, standardization, and improvement of new and existing processes and systems
  • Provide a high level of support within Finance and to other business partners - work with FP&A and non-Finance budget holders to ensure accuracy of actuals
  • Delegate and review work carried out by offshore accounting support teams;

The next great EA Senior Accountant also needs:

Technical background :

One or more of the following backgrounds:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA-qualified or equivalent financial accounting studies
  • Prior equivalent Controllership work experience with a multinational company and /or Prior public accounting experience
  • Fluency in French and English required
  • Experience identifying and communicating general accounting issues
  • Experience with month-end reporting deadlines and/or preparation of local statutory financial statements
  • Experience with internal controls compliance
  • Familiarity with US GAAP
  • 3+ years of experience in an audit company would be a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft excel (can maintain spreadsheets) required, including data mining tools and PivotTables

Poste de Contrôleur Financier de deux entités Européennes dont une basée en France.

Le poste est ouvert en priorité sur Lyon et reporte au responsable Financier basé à Lyon.

En tant que Controleur Financier, vous serez en charge de la comptabilité et du reporting sur les filiales de votre périmètre. Vous serez responsable des états financiers locaux, en vous assurant notamment de leur enregistrement correct, et de leur alignement avec les normes comptables locales et US GAAP

Principales missions :

Reporting financier :

  • Contrôle et revue des process financiers, en apportant une attention toute particulière aux règles de comptabilité (US GAAP) et aux réconciliations de comptes
  • Planification et vérification rigoureuse des tâches, permettant de respecter les échéances imposées par la maison mère
  • Maintien de la conformité des comptes avec les normes locales (taxes, états financiers statutaires…) et les normes du Groupe
  • Revue et soumission du reporting de pré-clôture et de clôture aux équipes Finances Européennes
  • Amélioration continue du process de reporting
  • Point de contact comptabilité générale et reporting, rôle d’interface avec les différents services et avec les services d’audits internes et externes

 

Contrôle financier :

  • Responsable comptable pour le(s) territoire(s) défini(s)
  • Préparation et revue des dépenses mensuelles, en lien avec le contrôleur de gestion et les responsables de budget, afin de consolider l’ensemble des engagements financiers de la société
  • Analyse, revue et autorisation des paiements fournisseurs, paie et débours de trésorerie
  • Préparation et gestion du process de clôture mensuelle
  • Identification proactive et résolution de problématiques relatives au contrôle financier
  • Etroite collaboration avec les départements de comptabilité fournisseurs, clients et taxes afin de s’assurer de l’exactitude des réconciliations
  • Etroite collaboration avec les autres départements (marketing, commercial…) pour s’assurer de l’exactitude des reportings
  • En charge de la planification et gestion de trésorerie
  • En charge de la relation avec les cabinets d’expertises locaux si la filiale est à l’étranger

Gestion de process :

  • Mise à jour et contrôle des procédures comptables
  • Suivi des réconciliations
  • Revue et amélioration des process existants
  • Participation active dans les projets d’alignement des pratiques entre entités Européennes / development-implementation de best practices

Compétences requises :

  • Anglais courant
  • Maîtrise d’excel
  • De solides compétences techniques sur le plan comptable (minimum 3 ans d’expérience)

 

Compétences complémentaires souhaitées :

  • Expérience en audit
  • Bonne connaissance des US GAAP
