As a Senior Cinematic Artist, you will work alongside a team of creative artists and directors to help capture The Sims 4 gameplay content (video and static) for marketing, social, internal, and occasionally in-game use.

This candidate will have a technical aptitude in regard to technology used in game development (internal tools, debug command interfaces, and game engines) and critical problem-solving skills.

The candidate will also possess strong art fundamentals and use of camera language to invoke creative storytelling. You will be responsible for adhering to our brand bible and best practices while given the freedom to create characters and assets to deliver content on brief and on-time. You will be expected to set standards for quality for more junior colleagues and lead a project alongside with a lead artist to navigate feedback and approvals throughout the process.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, document, and distribute shot references in collaboration with the lead artists, based on creative supplied by the director.
• Employ proven cinematic techniques to advance the level of immersion, realism, and art direction required from the cinematic team.
• Continuously push junior - mid level artists to hold the same understanding in their work.
• Drive actionable feedback from the lead cinematic artists and/or the cinematic director across the team.
• Build excellent Sim characters,  in-game interior and exterior sets.
• Efficiently Capture in-game videos for trailers, social media assets and other uses as requested.
• Capture screenshots with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• Experienced The Sims 4 player with strong understanding of the game.
• Strong sense of composition, cinematography, color, and lighting is a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulates their ideas and thoughts clearly and concisely.
• Work well in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills to provide solutions to problems with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop.
• Enjoy working in a collaborative, iterative, and agile process.
• Highly creative, detail-oriented and deadline driven.
• Quick to adapt to company proprietary software and video game debug systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime when necessary.
• Passion for games and creating video content. 
• Must be able to keep focus on multiple tasks and effectively set priorities among projects.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Over 4 years of working in the video games industry.
• Experienced with video capture and editing software (Premiere and Unreal is a plus).
• Degree/Diploma in Film, Art, Design, Marketing or related field is a plus but not required.
• Experience shipping at least 2 titles.
