What does a UX Researcher Do?

You will be our dedicated researcher and will report to the Senior Manager, Experience Design. You will be part of a cross-discipline UX team (Experience Designers, Content Creators, Data Analysts and Technical Writers) that's responsible for shaping the user experience of EA's game engine, Frostbite. You will conduct strategic research to help improve the quality of Frostbite, and work with design and production teams to integrate usability and user research into the development process.

Who we're looking for

You have experience establishing end-to-end research processes, and have partnered with teams to promote and incorporate user-centered research methods. You understand how to translate complex technical and design needs into efficient and focused inquiries, and are experienced at framing problems and scoping research approaches. You communicate your findings to team partners in ways that help them better achieve their design and experience goals and create new ways to share and distribute research insights across the organization.

You will need:

  • A degree in Experimental Psychology (Social, Cognitive), Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or a related field, or equivalent industry and/or education experience.
  • 5+ years industry experience in design and conducting research using multiple research methodologies.
  • A portfolio of case studies that demonstrate your process, outcome, and impact.
  • Experience working with varying levels of abstraction across business and product strategy.
  • A passion for games or technology.
