Position Title: Manager Engineering

DRE are EA's continuous integration and build experts. We are a team of over 100, located in EA studios across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. We pride ourselves on providing superior automation services to EA teams - games, engine, product, and content teams.

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our DRE Mobile team and help oversee part of our project portfolio and team of engineers.

Working with the Sr Engineering Manager, Technical Director and other Engineering Managers on the team, you'll ensure delivery of our core services to our game teams in your portfolio and help improve our internal tech stack. This position is based in Vancouver with the project portfolio and engineering team being across North America. You will be reporting to the Sr Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

Team Engagement

  • People management for a team of engineers
  • Provide team with clear performance expectations, mentoring, and growth opportunities
  • Hire great talent for the team

Business Relationship Management

  • Work with stakeholders on game teams to ensure our services meet their needs
  • Build relationships with our business partners (finance, HR, talent acquisition, etc...)
  • Define and drive key metrics related to project and team goals

Technical Leadership

  • Ensure the team provides stable and reliable automation systems to our partner game teams
  • Contribute to the long-term vision of our team's technical roadmap
  • Create a culture of knowledge-sharing amongst our engineers

Qualifications

Management Skills

  • Effective communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • Project or Agile Service management experience
  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Collaborated with teams across multiple time zones

Engineering Skills

  • 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager
  • Mobile/gaming development or operations
  • Source-control (e.g. Perforce, Git)
  • CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins)
  • OO languages (e.g. Java)
  • Scripting languages (e.g. Shell, Python)
  • Familiarity with DevOps tech stacks (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
  • Experience with enterprise on-prem infrastructure or public cloud solutions
