Job Description

EA is seeking a Transactional Email Operations Specialist to own and maintain EA’s transactional emails. As a member of the Marketing Operations and Technology (MOT) Architecture team you’ll help handle incoming content requests for our transactional emails and make sure that they are properly completed, assist with technical updates to the templates and trigger configurations as needed, and build or oversee the building of new email templates. You’ll also help with the building and deployment of occasional one-off, ad-hoc email requests that the team receives. The individual in this role will work with various teams across EA marketing, technology, and studio organizations.

About the Team

We’re EA’s Marketing, Commercial, and Positive Play Organization (MCP). Our teams build meaningful relationships with hundreds of millions of players around the world who love our games. We aim to be the best at meeting players where they are and supporting them throughout their EA journey. Our teams develop the strategic vision of our games; execute multi-channel campaigns; build global engagement; develop global insights; and we accelerate sales and publishing efforts worldwide. Most importantly, we do all of this by understanding – and celebrating – the diversity of our players, so we can deliver the content they want when and where they want it.

As part of the Marketing pillar of MCP, the Marketing Operations and Technology (MOT) team’s primary goal is to motivate players to engage with EA games by delivering content against key moments in the player’s journey. The team focuses on leveraging behavioral and transactional data, as well as automation tools to deliver personalized messages, at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand operations, systems, and data related to EA’s transactional email program.
  • Manage incoming requests to edit and update existing or create new email templates.
  • Manage the asset and copy delivery with the localization team.
  • Manage updates to email content, template, and trigger configurations within our email service provider.
  • Work closely with other teams to align on execution of template and content requests.
  • Work with our in-house data team regarding updates and modifications to the API calls used to trigger the transactional emails.
  • Manage requests and work with teams that require the occasional ad-hoc email to be sent out.
  • Build, proof, and deploy ad-hoc email requests.
  • Update and maintain process documentation and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems in a highly visible environment.
  • Consistently identify opportunities to scale and refine tools and processes.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of email marketing experience
  • Experience with major email service provider (ESP) platforms
  • 2+ years of free hand (expert) HTML and CSS experience (preferred)
  • 2+ years of free hand (expert) SQL experience (preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects among a wide range of internal stakeholders, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience navigating complex operational processes.
  • Creative and strategic thinker, with the ability to clearly articulate vision and implement plans.
  • Investigative, problem-solving mindset and a strong eye for detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable with data.
  • Comfortable with change: ability to demonstrate comfort with ambiguity.
