Tools Developer (Technical Artist) 

EA Create is a collective of content production teams partnering with EA Studios game teams to provide outstanding visuals, audio and technology. The EA Create Tools and Technology Team is looking for accomplished people to help us fulfil our mission of providing creative tools and workflows that allow EA to lead the industry in content quality. Our group strives to build an ecosystem of efficient, adaptable modular components to trends and allow for quick iteration of any artistic idea into reality. 

The Challenge Ahead 

The EA Create Tools and Technology team partners with several groups spanning all aspects of asset creation with whom we collaborate to bring art for modern games to life. As a Tools Developer (Technical Artist) on the team, you will develop pipelines and tools, debug, automate processes, work on complex problems with other technical artists and engineers, overall developing workflows to improve quality and operations. You will report to a team Development Director. 

Day to day you will: 

  • Gather user requirements, design, debug, test and maintain quality and reusable code. 
  • Work with customers (i.e., technical artists and artists) to create pipelines, tools, and automation processes for getting content from its source through curation and the asset management system. 
  • Think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations, contributing to the developer community 

You are/have: 

  • 5+ year's professional experience. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent training 
  • Experience in Python and MEL 
  • Experience working applications such as Maya, Houdini and Photoshop 
  • Experience working Rigging Dev, Animation or both for Tool Development 

Bonus if you have: 

  • Experience in C#, Java and .NET 
  • Knowledge of Agile (Scrum) development methodologies 
  • Experience with in-house proprietary tools and software
  • Experience working with CFX
  • USD Experience
