We’re on the lookout for an experienced artist to work with us on exciting new projects! You’ll be a core and integral part of the Yacht Club Games team: responsible for developing in-game art assets. You should feel comfortable collaborating with a small group to define, create, and lead the art process for Yacht Club Games projects.
Responsibilities
Create high quality 3D environment art assets that adhere to art direction and game style.
Model, texture, and light environs.
Create distinct visual languages that serve both gameplay needs and visual targets.
Work with the team to conceptualize and mock-up visuals for environments that serve both gameplay and art direction.
Collaborate with designers and programmers to create and implement assets.
Provide feedback on how to improve tools and increase team productivity.
Able to work independently or with small team to manage tasklist and workflow.
Learn and adapt to art and production pipelines to create and iterate on art quickly.
Assist in additional roles at the company as interested - included in all parts of game creation from business and marketing to art and design decisions.
Requirements
Proactive, curious, and confident in learning on the fly.
Passionate about playing and making games.
Experience with 3D environment modeling and best practices.
Proficiency in 3D software (Maya, ZBrush, Mudbox, 3ds Max, etc).
Knowledgeable in modern rendering techniques: programmable shaders, 3D lighting, VFX tools.
Experience creating custom materials, working with static and dynamic lighting.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
Excellent organization / directory skills.
Portfolio showcasing recent work.
Good oral and written communication skills; ability to work and contribute in a collaborative environment.
Desirable
Experience with 3D character modeling.
Experience in a lead or mentorship role.
Scripting experience.
Familiarity with SVN.
