Development Manager

Electronic Arts' Firemonkeys Studio in Melbourne is regarded throughout the industry as a leader in delivering high-quality, engaging games on iOS and Android. We release new meaningful updates for our live mobile games such as Real Racing 3, The Sims FreePlay, Need for Speed, and The Sims Mobile.

We are looking for a Development Manager to join our team on a 12-month contract. You will partner with Game Leads and Product Owners to plan and help provide live service operations for the Real Racing 3 game team on time, to quality and within budget. You will report to the Senior Development Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a diverse team to build a delivery plan for live game releases following the Studio's established development framework
  • Develop working relationships that have a positive impact on the completion of project-based work
  • Communicate with project teams and coordinate requirements with external partners
  • Assist the project leadership team in improving the efficiency of our processes
  • Support the Licensing Manager in managing the approvals workflow for use of licensed assets in-game and marketing campaigns

Project Management & Execution

  • Partner with Game Leads, Producers and Quality Verification (QV) teams and additional Studio partners to manage project scope, quality and live service delivery
  • Establish a viable Project Plan and Schedule to fulfill the goals of the product road-map, determine task dependencies, balance scope, assign tasks and align partners to accomplish defined project outcomes
  • Improve the team's established scrum ceremonies and development workflows
  • Gather and report project metrics and operational data to develop strategies for project performance improvements and fulfill regular status reporting requirements
  • Ensure project documentation such as Jira and Confluence are up-to-date and reflect the status of the project, you will also identify and mitigate risks

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of project management and/or team leadership experience
  • Education requirement University degree bachelor's or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience working within multiple project management methodologies including waterfall and Agile / Scrum
  • Experience working with a dynamic live service or games as a service (GaaS) title
  • Knowledge of software development processes, change management, and process improvement
