The position

Job description

As a Darewise Game Designer, you will be going through an iterative, hands-on process of adjusting and balancing our game’s design as you bring our ground-breaking new project, Life Beyond from concept to playability.

Please note that this position is either full-time on-site in Paris - or you can work remotely from your home anywhere in Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceive, communicate and produce game designs - from big picture to specific features
  • Collaborate with artists and programmers on design specifications and implementation
  • Partner with other designers and system designers to develop high quality content in line with the game’s overall strategy
  • Design game features that are entertaining, engaging and rewarding in line with the creative and game directions
  • Practice iterative design techniques to integrate player feedback and playtest data
  • Adapt to technical and production constraints, reworking your design when and as often as needed.
  • Proactively seek out gameplay problems and provide solutions

Preferred experience

  • Game design experience, with a minimum of at least one complete product cycle
  • 2+ years of professional video game industry experience as a Game Designer on a AAA title or similar scale project
  • F2P/Games as a service design experience and understanding
  • Excellent understanding of F2P game models and the varying motivations that drive players to keep playing
  • Reliable scheduling/time management skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Positive, collaborative and professional attitude while working under deadlines
  • Strong English and communication skills, comfortable working with multi-disciplinary and/or remote teams
  • Continuously learning, constantly seeking opportunities to experiment, fail fast, optimize workflows and foster open communication

Also nice to have:

  • Strong math and data analysis skills
  • Unreal and Blueprint experience
  • Rapid prototyping experience
  • Understand the princples of UI/UX

Recruitment process
